Laboring in the obscurity he so richly deserves for over a decade now, your crusty correspondent sporadically offers his views on family, law, politics and money. Nothing herein should be taken too seriously: If you look closely, you can almost see the twinkle in Curmudgeon's eye. Or is that a cataract?

Today is Labor Day and I'm at the Undisclosed Location
Why?
Well, for one thing there's no charge to park on the street downtown today!
That, and I have work to do. And it's easier to do work on a day when I want to than on a day when I have to.
There's apparently a reason why I'm self-employed....
Yes the joys of being self employed...as my hubby sits here in his housecoat comtemplating what task he wants to take on...whilst surfing the net....yes...self employment....
Ah, labor on Labor Day. I called a meeting on Thursday, when I remembered that today was a holiday. I moved, seconded, and with no dissent gave the entire firm the day off. I did spend a bit of time working, can't help it, given voicemail and the Internet.
I'm trying to be self employed and I find that there are definitely more days that I WANT to work as compared to when I was employed by somebody else and HAD to work.

I've discovered being self-employed requires a tremendous amount of self-discipline. I'll be working today as well.
I'm not self employed, but I'll be at work today, too. People get sick everyday of the year.

Happy Labor Day to you, Cur. It is much easier to work when you want to rather than when you have to.

I always liked (well, usually) being at the office when nobody else was around... quiet, parking was better, got work done - what a concept.
