I'm ba-ack... sort of

Different ways to describe what I've been up to this past week:
  • The sensational: I was disemboweled. (When it's done by a skilled surgeon -- as in my case -- it's not nearly as ugly as it is in the sword and sandals movies. Although you wouldn't want to see my belly just now... in the movies or anywhere else.)
  • The seasonal: I gave up my colon for Lent. (And I won't even get it back on Easter Sunday!)
  • The grammatical: I went from a ":" to a ";"
I just got home late this afternoon and there's some settling down to be done here: It appears that I got more sleep than Long Suffering Spouse did the last two nights. Inasmuch as I was in the hospital I would have thought that was impossible. But once we get settled in here I have a few stories to share with you. There is one ground rule we must get straight right now: Absolutely no belly laughs! And you can just imagine how sincerely I mean this.

I've already thanked you all for your good wishes. But I can't help myself: I've been reading comments. So let me be redundant and repetitive: Thank you again. More soon -- maybe as soon as tomorrow.

I'm so glad that you posted today as I was wondering how you had made out with your surgery. It's nice to see that you came out with your sense of humor still intact! Would have been a real shame had the surgeons decided that needed to go along with your colon!

Rest up and we'll all be ready for stories anytime you're ready to tell them!

Thanks for posting, TC. I often battle with the prayer issue but I've learned that awesome Anglican technique of taking one's eyes off one's self and sending the good vibes elsewhere. You are St. Elsewhere my friend. Continue your recovery. And I do think this is answered prayer.

Oh yeah, I did have a really funny post about chitlins (fried pork intestines - soul food here in the South) but I refrained due to your intestive health. I'll get back to ya with that one.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so glad you're back, and seem to be ok! I see they didn't splice out your sense of humor (love the "grammatical" reference).

Please rest up but blog again when you can, I'm glad to hear from you.

Bring home any souveniers? (ok sorry, just kidding, but you did say you could use it as a Christmas ornament. I hope you were kidding).

Nice to have you back Curmudgeon!

Anyway, all this niceness is getting too much to bear - time for some crusty posting!

There must be plenty of good material from the hospital...

Curmudgeon - I'm glad to see you're OK. I've read *about* you and read your comments in Sari's blog, but for some reason had never clicked on the link to your blog. Today I did and I'm glad I did. Your profile says you're looking for regular readers...consider me a new one.

Feel better soon...

Curmudgeon -

I glad to see that you are back and have survived the ordeal.

My latest post is about Chicago food stuffs. You may find it interesting. It's about foods that you will not be able to eat for a while.

Now the journey really begins huh?

I hope you're feeling okay and that LSS is hanging in there too.

And honestly, I can't wait to hear you have to say about the rest of this ordeal. Your sense of humor is unique and thank goodness still intact.

Now back at your house,

Get well soon, 'Mudge'.

Welcome back. I am glad your ense of humor is intact. Holding a pillow over your tummy can help a bit if you just have to laugh.
