Laboring in the obscurity he so richly deserves for two decades now, your crusty correspondent sporadically offers his views on family, law, politics and money. Nothing herein should be taken too seriously: If you look closely, you can almost see the twinkle in Curmudgeon's eye. Or is that a cataract?

Gaudeamus igitur
Jeff Danzinger's May 17 cartoon (obtained from Yahoo! Comics) struck me as the funniest graduation/recession cartoon I've seen to date.
OK... so it's more bitter than funny... but... anyway... congratulations graduates. Let's all sing along with Mario Lanza:
We get an illustration of that on June 21 at UIC Pavilion. Chris graduates with a Bachelor's in Computer Information Systems. He still has a job, of course, and isn't planning on ditching it simply because he has a degree. But that illustration is pretty much how it feels. Four looooong years of hard work, and go back to the same dead end hated job on Monday.
